About Madeira

Madeira is a volcanic island in the Atlantic Island. Its origins are similar to those of the Canary Islands and the wildlife shares many similarities too: large Laurel forests (the largest of its type in the world!), a unique flora with many endemic species, and a short list of birds, many of which are unique to this island or only shared with the Canaries. Madeira stands out for its hiking options in the laurel forests, its unique sea birds and mammals.
